Dog Flu: What You Need to Know

The debate of flu shots always reaches a fever (see what I did there?) pitch, but what about our pups? Vets and pet owners are urging pet lovers to vaccinate their dogs after a dog flu outbreak. It's VERY contagious and has already spread to 46 states.

Dog flu symptoms include coughing, sneezing, lethargy, decreased appetite and difficulty breathing. Permanent lung disease can result from dog flu.

A pretty simple blood test can let you know if your pup has the dog flu, instead of something less serious like kennel cough. Just like human flu, it's best to catch it early, because hospitalization can cost thousands of dollars.

If you notice any of the above symptoms, get your pooch in ASAP!
