The Minnesota Wild have signed top prospect Mikael Granlund to a 3-year $2.7 Million contract.  The contract includes $90,000 in bonus money annually.  He is ranked as the #2 overall prospect in the Hockey News Future Watch.  Granlund scored 40 points in 43 games as a 17-year old in the Finnish Elite League.  As a 19-year old last season he led the HIFK in regular season scoring.

Granlund is not the fastest and at 5’10 180 pounds isn’t the biggest but he is considered one of the best puck handlers and scores with ease.  The Wild selected Granlund with the 9th overall pick in 2010.
