Missouri Bound: Lumberjacks Win West, Eyeing Another Fraser Cup
The Granite City Lumberjacks are Missouri-bound as they won the West last night in a thrilling 3-2 victory in overtime against I-94 rival Alexandria. This is the 5th straight year that Granite City has advanced to St. Peters, Missouri, to compete in the Fraser Cup Championship.
Another West Division Championship For Granite City
Granite City's OT win on Sunday night in Sauk Rapids clinched another West Division championship for the 'Jacks. It also meant that the team would be heading south to Missouri in its quest for a 5th Fraser Cup. But the road to another cup will be tough, as we now know who the Lumberjacks will have to beat to advance.
Toughest Fraser Cup Yet For The Lumberjacks?
On Wednesday night, 7:30pm, the Granite City Lumberjacks will face off against the Texas Brahmas, who finished the regular season with a record of 36-7-2-2 and are the winners of the South Division. After the Wednesday game, the Lumberjacks are back playing Thursday at 7:30pm against the East Division winner, Long Beach Sharks, who finished the regular season with a record of 31-13-2-1.

If the jacks win both of their games in Pool B, they would then play the 2nd place team in Pool A. The winner of that game goes on to the championship game, with the winner claiming the Fraser Cup.
