If you are thinking that Valentine's Day is one of those days that is just a made up holiday, I'm kind of with you.  However, it is on a Saturday night this year, and it might be a great time to go out for a date night.

You need to take into consideration that there might be quite busy on that night at most of the restaurants in the area.  It could be a great idea to make some reservations.  We also know that not everywhere takes reservations, so you might want to plan ahead.

There are a few restaurants in the area that are great for Valentine's Day or even just a great date night.  And some of them do take reservations.

BELLO CUCINA ITALIAN STEAKHOUSE IN ST. JOSEPH

Bello Cucina is an awesome restaurant for any date night.  Last year my husband and I did go there for Valentine's Day and had a delicious meal.  They also offered some complimentary chocolate covered strawberries for a little extra yumminess.  Not sure if they will be doing that again, but if you would like some great Italian food, make a reservation now for the 14th.

KREWE RESTAURANT IN ST. JOSEPH

If you love seafood, and mostly Creole seafood and other dishes, Krewe is the place you want to go.  The owner, chef is from the NOLA area, and really knows what he's doing for this style and taste of foods.  I am not a seafood fan, but have always been able to find something to eat when we have been there, and it's always amazing.  Plus they have awesome desserts and pasteries.  Check it out - plus they do take reservations.

CAFE RENAISSANCE IN WAITE PARK

I feel like this is one of those forgotten restaurants in the area.  We have been to Cafe Renaissance several times in the last few months and it never disappoints.  I have been there many times when there are just a few people there, but also a few times when it's been super packed.  They also take reservations, so call now if you would like to experience this hidden gem.

ANTON'S RESTAURANT IN WAITE PARK

There is a feeling that Anton's floods every year.  That is actually not true.  Although it is prone to flooding if we have that much snow during a winter, and the Sauk River rises that much.  But it does not happen every year.  Anton's is one of those places that I sometimes forget about how nice it is.  Great idea for a date night and/or for Valentine's Day.  Might want to call and make a reservation.  Plus, you can get a discount by using the Value Connection.

WHITE HORSE RESTAURANT IN ST CLOUD

Unfortunately, White Horse does NOT take reservations.  So, try and get there early, or if you prefer, you could go a little later.  Their food is awesome.  There isn't anything there that I have tried that I haven't liked.  They always have something there that you really can't get anywhere else, so definitely check it out.  Conveniently located on St. Germain Street downtown, St. Cloud.

JULES BISTRO IN ST CLOUD

Jules is also located on St. Germain street downtown St. Cloud.  However, they DO take reservations.  Known for their artisan food, but also some awesome desserts.  You really cannot go wrong with Jules Bistro.  They are also available on the Value Connection, so get a certificate and save some money while enjoying a great meal.

OLDE BRICK HOUSE IN ST CLOUD

Years ago, before I left the area for 10 years, the Olde Brick House location was Rum Runners bar.  When we moved back, we quickly learned how great the Brick House is.  Great food, events and entertainment.  It is one of our favorite places.  Unfortunately I don't believe they take reservations, so first come, first served, but absolutely worth it.

There are probably a couple that I have missed, feel free to add your choice of great restaurants in the area.
