Unforgettable Moments: 2025 Minnesota State Wrestling Tournament Pics

Good Sunday afternoon. Erin Johnson has been working hard to put the finishing touches on her photographs from the Minnesota State Wrestling Tournament, which wrapped up last night with both boys' and girls' championship matches. You can see who won a championship by heading here. 

Here are some photos from the second day of the individual tournament at the Xcel Energy Center in downtown Saint Paul.

The women took to the mat on day two, it's great to see how competitive womens'/girls' wrestling has become over just a short period.

Still it was all about the more accomplished wrestlers showcasing their skills and techniques, helping them advance to the later rounds.

One thing that I think the MSHSL should look at is making the team tournament the last day of the 3 day run of wrestling, as you get penalized in some ways for having your team make state as well as making state as an individual. This move would hopefully give teams the chance to showcase their depth, rather than getting injured during the team portion and then having to miss out on the individual tournament.

The state tournament brings in people from all corners of the state of Minnesota to watch some of the best wrestlers from the land of 10,000 lakes, and it's worth the price of parking and admission.
