Why would anyone be satisfied with doing a job to anything less than the best of their ability? Why do some people consistently over achieve, while others consistently fall short? I think a large part of it is where they’re aiming their guns. If someone’s goal is to do 'what’s expected,' then I think they’ll frequently come up short.

Aiming higher makes all the difference in the world. If someone’s goal is to do their best, be the best, and to always be improving; they will rarely fall short of the ‘what’s expected’ mark, and their best performances will know no bounds.

Slight shift in thinking. Big difference in results.

Good is doing what you should be able to do. Great is doing what you shouldn’t be able to do.
