If you spend anytime in Downtown St. Cloud, you are more than likely familiar with the mobile parking app, that allows users to pay for parking on their smartphone. The app, ParkMobile, just announced that they are rolling out some updates, that will make using the app more user friendly. Here are some of the announced changes coming to the app.

Pay For Parking, From Your Phone

When you visit downtown St. Cloud during the work week, and during business hours, you have to pay to park throughout downtown. Often times it can be confusing for visitors and people new to the area to understand how to pay for parking, and one of the easiest ways I've found is to use the ParkMobile app, which is available in the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.

The app, which handles all the paid parking zones in St. Cloud, is undergoing some updates, which were done from user submitted feedback. Here are some of the changes they announced in a recent email to app users.

Easier Selection Of Parking Zones

The app is getting an updated map, that has better GPS, allowing visitors to the downtown to better find where they park, and pay for that stall. According to the rollout email:

The new map detects your location and lets you know which parking zones are closest to you. We've also improved our data to bring you a whole new level of detail. - ParkMobile

Confirmation Screen Before Payment

The update will also include an easier to understand confirmation screen before you pay on your phone, using a back card or Google/Apple Pay. Personally the current app makes it look like you've already paid if you don't scroll all the way to the bottom, so I can see why you'd want more of a confirmation, that way you can avoid a parking ticket.

Personal To Business Toggling So You Can Stay Logged In

If you pay for work, as well as for leisure you will soon be able to toggle the menu between work and personal, without having to log out and log in under the correct account/email.

When Will We See The Update?

According to the email I got from ParkMobile right now the updates are being rolled out in larger cities, and then trickled down to the rest of the places that use the parking app. I opened up my app Thursday night, and didn't see any of the new updates they messaged about, so I would think by the end of the summer users will be prompted to update the app in order to experience the new options.
