Minnesota #2 in the U.S. for Working Moms
Raising a family isn't easy by any means. When you need to be a working mom it's downright stressful. If you're a working mom in Minnesota, consider yourself lucky compared to other states.
Wallethub just released their annual report of 2018's best & worst states for working moms, and the results are surprising when it comes to the states that are very supportive of working moms. They looked at many metrics to rank each state, including: child care, professional opportunities, and work-life balance.
Minnesota wasn't too surprising as we rank pretty high on many "best of" lists -- coming in at #2 over all the other states in the United States. Here's how the rankings ended up:
- Vermont
- Minnesota
- Massachusetts
- District of Columbia
- Connecticut
- Rhode Island
- Maine
- New Jersey
- Delaware
- New York
The oddest part of this list is that none of our surrounding states made the top 10. Usually one of the Dakotas makes it high on the list, but not this time. If you're a working mom in Alabama, Louisiana or Idaho then you may be having a harder time than you should. They ranked dead last in the list and not as friendly to working moms as every other state.
