If you love the Great Minnesota Get Together, here is your chance to make money instead of spending it while you are there. The Minnesota State Fair is looking to hire 2,300 people before the gates open to the public on August 26th.

A State Fair spokesperson told WCCO departments hiring are sanitation, ticket takers, ticket sellers, retail, food service, and park and ride.

Working at the Minnesota State Fair is an opportunity to be part of welcoming more than 2 million people to celebrate the best Minnesota has to offer in our state’s most storied end-of-summer tradition. Benefits include free fair admission, valuable work experience, making great friends and so much more.

The number of employees needed seems a bit daunting, but a lot of seasonal fair workers are expected to return. About 65% of the people who have worked at the fair in the past are predicted to return to their positions, which still leaves about 1,000 positions that need to be filled.

The job application is fairly simple to fill out, you enter your basic information, and what days during the fair you are available to work. You can also enter what areas of interest you have whether that is working as a ticket seller, in maintenance, concessions, games, being a costumed character, and so much more. There's a job for any area of interest at the fair this year. Check out more on their job opportunities here.
