TANNER'S CINNAMON FRENCH TOAST TWIST
Do you have picky eaters at your house? It's hard to get some kids to try anything new that is good for them, it seems. If you think about it, this French Toast has a lot a great foods that your kids will enjoy. I use a sugar free syrup, as well as whole wheat bread, a dash of cinnamon and some eggs for protien. Here's the recipe. I hope you enjoy it.
INGREDIENTS
- 4 Pieces 100% Whole Wheat bread
- 3 eggs
- Cinnamon
- Butter
- Non Stick Spray
- Syrup; preferably Sugar free maple
DIRECTIONS
Heat your frying pan to a medium high heat. Spray pan with nonstick spray. Crack 3 eggs into a bowl and mix well. Add cinnamon to taste, and mix well again. Dip each piece of bread into the cinnamon egg mixture. Cover well and then place each piece on the frying pan or griddle. Brown approximately 1 minute per side on medium high heat, or until egg coating has appeared like a scrambled egg topping; just a touch golden brown. Flip to other side and again heat for approximately 1 minute. Remove french toast from pan to plate. Place a small amount of butter in center of each piece, and lightly drizzle with syrup of your choice. NOTE: Keep it light on the syrup. Better yet; don't use it at all. The cinnamon flavor should come shining through.
