How Timberwolves Fans Will Watch Games After FanDuel's Collapse

The Minnesota Timberwolves have shared a portion of how fans can watch the team this year. After FanDuel Sports Network dissolved at the end of the season last year, the Timberwolves were looking for a new broadcast partner. It seems like fans will need a separate subscription to watch most games with this announcement.

The Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday morning revealed a portion of their broadcast plans for the upcoming 2026-2027 season. Early indications from the announcement might leave fans disappointed, as it seems like you'll need a subscription to watch most games.

According to the release:

"The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced a new local media rights agreement with DAZN (pronounced da-ZONE), naming the global sports entertainment platform as the franchise’s new exclusive home for Timberwolves basketball across its local broadcast territory. Through a new team-branded subscription service launching later this summer, fans can stream Timberwolves games plus access broader team content more directly and conveniently than traditional viewing options. Fifteen games will be available for free this season, underscoring the team’s commitment to reaching more fans."

The release goes on to state that "additional details regarding game availability, programming and launch timing will be announced at a later date."

Nationally televised games will still be available to watch on Amazon Prime, NBC, ABC, Peacock, and ESPN.

Opposite From The Minnesota Wild

Last week the Minnesota Wild announced what they were doing: a mix of cable, satellite, and over-the-air broadcast options for the upcoming season, and I really thought the Timberwolves would follow with a similar announcement.

However is seems that outside of the 15 free streaming games mentioned by the Timberwolves in the announcement, you'll need a paid subscription.
