I Never Got An Allowance When I Was A Kid

Growing up, I had friends who got allowances from their parents.  Granted, it was a small amount of money but still, I never got one.

That might sound a little like pouting but it's not and I definitely had a good childhood. While I didn't get money on a regular basis, my parents were good about buying me stuff that I wanted.  So, in a way that was my allowance -- I usually had to earn it and if I was naughty (and, hard as it may be to believe, I could be!) it could be taken away.
