If you've ever wandered through Maple Grove and suddenly found yourself staring at a giant chalk dragon, a breathtaking portrait, or a 3D masterpiece that looked like it could swallow you whole, then you know you've wandered into ChalkFest!

The good news? Chalkfest is back for 2026!!!

CHALKFEST OF ARBOR LAKES 2026

In an amazing turn of events, ChalkFest Of Arbor Lakes will be held Saturday and Sunday, June 13-14, in Maple Grove, from 10 am until 6 pm, and then any artwork that remains will be open for public viewing on Monday, June 15th, 2026.

This year's event will feature a mix of 40 pro and amateur artists creating their amazing chalk masterpieces for all to view. The artists work with a liquid chalk, and they have two days to complete their masterpiece. Artists create incredible art....some of it is 3-dimensional...all original, and won't last long.

AN UNCERTAIN FUTURE

Just a few months ago, the future of Chalkfest was uncertain after the Maple Grove Business Association, the group that had organized the event for years, announced it was dissolving. Many wondered if one of Minnesota's most unique summer traditions had reached the end of the road.

Instead, a new group of community leaders stepped forward.

CHALKFEST OF ARBOR LAKES IS FREE TO ATTEND

The free festival will once again transform Main Street into an outdoor art gallery where professional and amateur artists create massive chalk murals right on the pavement. Visitors can watch the artwork come to life throughout the weekend, enjoy family-friendly activities, browse vendors, and grab a bite to eat while taking in the creativity.

TEMPORARY BUT EVERLASTING

One of the coolest things about Chalkfest is that every masterpiece is temporary. The art exists for only a brief moment before weather and time eventually wash it away. Maybe that's part of what makes it so special.

This year, Chalkfest feels a little different. It's not just a celebration of art. It's a reminder of what can happen when a community decides something worth saving deserves another chance.
