MINNESOTANS ROCK ON THIS SEASON OF 'THE VOICE'

Have you been watching this season of 'The Voice' on NBC? I have, in fact, been watching this year because we have Minnesotans on the program, and I love to see Minnesota talent being recognized by the world.

This past week, I had the opportunity to chat with Cameron Wright, who grew up in Minneapolis and is now living in the Twin Cities again. Cameron was a joy to speak with as they talked about how they grew up with a touring musician mom, and all of his brothers and sisters also sing. Cameron and his mother, however, are the only two who find passion in music and pursue it as a career. (You can listen to my interview with Cameron below).

Cameron told me that he has auditioned for 'The Voice' many times, but as it is in the music business, you don't always win; you just keep fighting. So, he did; and this last time, he was called to be on the show.

MONDAYS BATTLE ROUND

At the time of our conversation, I asked them if they had completed their battle round yet, and Cameron told me that the show had been recorded but not aired yet; and hoped everyone would watch because they felt that they and his battle partner Cassidy Lee had just the best pairing anyone could ask for.

Watch the performance. Who would you pick as the winner of the battle round? Cameron has the technicals down, but Cassidy's unique voice and take on the song made her a hot contender.

AND THE WINNER IS....

In the end, Cameron Wright won the battle; a bittersweet moment, as he really loved the talent of Cassidy.

As luck would have it, Reba McEntire decided that Cassidy should be saved, and pushed the button to bring Cassidy over to Team Reba! Cameron's reaction was priceless when he learned that Cassidy had been saved.

I wish Cameron & Cassidy the absolute best of luck on their journey on 'The Voice.' As we all know, and the judges say; no matter who wins the competition, they are all so incredibly talented, and I can't wait to see these two up against each other as the show continues!
