There is some very good news to share today: Marin, the kitten who was taken from Tri-County Humane Society on Wednesday, has been safely returned.

And perhaps the best news of all? He is healthy, happy, and back where he belongs.

REUNITED AND IT FEELS SO GOOD

This is not the outcome many of us expected. The courage it would take for someone to willingly come forward would be too great for most people. But clearly, this person did really care for this kitten, as they put its health ahead of their actions and faced the music by returning the kitten so it could stay on the healthy track that it was put on with its foster parent. I'm so thankful for their change of heart. It's a piece of good news that we all needed to hear.

Tri-County Humane Society shared the update this morning, saying Marin has been reunited with his foster parent. A photo taken immediately after Marin returned shows how happy everyone was to have the little kitten back safely. (See below).

According to the Humane Society, the person who took Marin dropped him off outside in a box and then called to let the organization know what they had done.

AN APOLOGY IS ACCEPTED

The person who saw the cute kitten and couldn't help but put him in their bag and leave the shelter with him was emotional and apologized profusely for their actions.

While the circumstances surrounding Marin's disappearance were understandably upsetting for the staff and everyone who followed his story, Tri-County Humane Society says they are simply grateful that Marin is home safe.

And they want to make one thing very clear: Marin is doing great.

The kitten is in wonderful condition and appears to have come through the ordeal

TCHS Pleads For Safe Return Of Sick Stolen Kitten

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Marin will not be listed for adoption again just yet. The Humane Society says they want to take some time before deciding what happens next for the little guy.

After yesterday's plea for Marin's safe return, the news is undoubtedly a huge relief for the staff, his foster family, and the many people who were worried about him.

STAY FOCUSED ON THE POSITIVE

TCHS is also asking people to keep the focus on the positive outcome.

Comments on the organization's social media post will remain open for now, but staff says they will not tolerate negative or unconstructive comments directed toward the person who took Marin.

While what happened was serious, that person ultimately made the decision to return the kitten, apologized, and made sure Marin got back safely. That takes courage.

After an incredibly stressful few days for everyone involved, Tri-County Humane Society says its team has been through a lot over the past few days.

I spoke with TCHS Via FB Messenger, and they wanted people to know:

'We clarified that Marin was actually done with his medical drops for now. His life is not - never was - in danger. We just want his eyes to continue to improve and to be able to educate a potential adopter about what he'll need.'

ONE LUCKY KITTEN

So today, they are asking for something much simpler: Send some love Marin's way.

The little kitten is safe. He's healthy. He's back with his foster parent, and after all the worry and concern surrounding his disappearance, that is exactly the news everyone was hoping to hear.

Welcome home, Marin.
