If you've never experienced riding a streetcar, the Minnesota Streetcar Museum has announced their 2025 schedule for streetcar rides, as well as what special events they will be hosting this year. Relive what it was like getting around the Twin Cities in years gone by, all while seeing the sights and hearing the distinct clickity-clack of the streetcar rolling along.

Two different streetcar lines are offered at the Minnesota Streetcar Museum. You can pick from the Como-Harriet Streetcar Line or the Excelsior Streetcar Line.

The cars will start rolling in less than a month, according to the museum's website. The Como-Harriet Streetcars will start on Saturday, May 3rd, and the days and times the streetcars run change slightly as the year goes along. Here are the times for Saturday and Sunday:

  • May 3 through August 31 • 12:30 to 8:30 PM
  • September 5 through 28 • 12:30 to 7 PM
  • October 4 through  25 • 12:30 to 4 PM

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Evenings

  • June 4 – August 29 • 6:30 to 8:30

Wednesday & Friday Afternoons

  • June 4 – August 29 • 1 to 4 PM

If you are looking to enjoy the Como-Harriet Line, you'll have to board at the Linden Hills Station, Queen Avenue South at West 42nd Street or the platform at Bde Maka Ska (Lake Calhoun) on Richfield Road just south of West 36th Street. A round trip takes about 15 minutes.

The Excelsior Line only runs on weekends. Here are the days and hours you can hop aboard that line.

Saturday

  • May 3 through May 10 • 1 to 4 PM
  • May 17 through September 20 • 10 AM to 4 PM
  • September 27 • 1 to 4 PM

Sunday

  • May 25 through September 21 • 12:30 to 3:30 PM

If you are looking to ride the Excelsior Line, you will have to hop aboard at the ESL platform in Excelsior, MN, near the intersection of Third Street and Water Street, next door to the Excelsior Public Library. For GPS directions, use the library’s address: 337 Water Street, 55331
