5 Central MN Breweries Donating Proceeds to Buffalo Victims
Five Central Minnesota breweries are teaming up to show their support for the community of Buffalo by donating a portion of Saturday's taproom sales.
Today (Tuesday, February 16) marks one week since the tragic shooting at an Allina Health Clinic in Buffalo, MN that killed one and left four more injured. Since then, many around the state have rallied to show their support for the community. Multiple GoFundMe fundraisers have been set up on behalf of the victims and their families. During the annual Kites on Ice Festival this past weekend, donation centers were set up around Buffalo for those who wanted to give, and some downtown businesses donated a portion of sales to the families of the victims. One local brewery -- Hayes' Public House in Buffalo -- hosted a candle vigil in the taproom. Today -- the one week mark since the shooting -- Buffalo is asking people to wear purple, display purple lighting and take a moment of silence in solidarity.
Several other Central Minnesota breweries are also stepping forward to show their support. Rustech Brewing Company and Nordic Brewing Company in Monticello, Lupulin Brewing Company in Big Lake, Spilled Grain Brewhouse in Annandale and Aegir Brewing Company in Elk River are teaming up for a joint fundraiser on Saturday, February 20 to donate $1 from the sale of every beer sold in the taproom.
Some breweries including Rustech Brewing have also chosen to match the total donation of beer sales. Proceeds will go back to the victims of the Allina Health Clinic shooting as set up by Allina Health. The fundraiser will happen all day Saturday, February 20, 2021 during each brewery's taproom hours. Here are each brewery's taproom hours for Saturday:
Rustech Brewing: 12:00-9:00pm
Nordic Brewing: 12:00-10:00pm
Aegir Brewing: 11:00am-10:00pm
Lupulin Brewing: 11:00am-9:00pm
