Fighting Rumors Of Closure, Back Shed Wants You To Belly Up!

With Crafts Direct's closure and subsequent sale of that building, Back Shed Brewing is reminding Central Minnesotans that it is still open and waiting to pour you a pint or growler to go. If you are going to be in town for Thanksgiving you should know there are some upcoming happenings at the brewery to ring in Black Friday, as well as Small Business Saturday.

I had the chance to talk with Chris Simonsen, the head brewer at Back Shed, yesterday afternoon. He was very concerned about the rumors that the brewery closed when Crafts Direct announced the sale of their building. The brewery is still making and serving up beer, seltzer, and non-alcoholic options, and they've even added pizza for those who bring along an appetite.

Chris indicated that the Schlecht family, which owns the brewery as well as the former Crafts Driect business, was still looking for a place suitable for the brewery to move to, with the current brewery being part of the Crafts Direct sale.

Coming up on Black Friday, the folks at Back Shed will be tapping a joint project with Lupulin Brewing from Big Lake, and then we run into the biggest day of the year for small businesses everywhere, Small Business Saturday.

Here's the details for Friday, on a very scare to come by beer release/tapping event.

In October of 2022, we joined forces with our friends at Lupulin to brew a one-of-a-kind beer. We needed both their production and their 10 BBL systems - along with an overnight boil - to create a rich, luscious, and velvety Imperial Sweet Stout. After fermentation, it spent 25 months in Wild Turkey Rye Whiskey barrels. It's like no other beer we've had here at Back Shed. Don't take our word for it...grab a draft or bottle today! Bottles are available starting at noon as well as on tap while supplies last.

In December Back Shed is offering up a Sip'N'Shop event on December 7th at 11am, with a Ugly Sweater Sing-A-Long happening at 6pm that same night.
