Monticello Brewery Calling It Quits On Beer, New Project Coming
A Monticello brewery is calling it quits on beer but announced that there was a new project coming in a new location a few months from now. Monticello's Nordic Brewpub posted this weekend that it was starting its last batch of beer and that the business would be changing strategies in time for a new project to launch this summer involving bourbon. Here's what we know.
The brewpub announced on Saturday, along with announcing what will be made as the last batch of beer brewed at Nordic, here is that social media post.
When we were talking about what to do for the last beer we decided to go back to the beginning.
Many of you don't know this but our good friend Bram from Belgium was here with us when we where dreaming up the first stages of The Nordic Brewing Co.
He was involved so much so that we created Bram's Black IPA (Some of you may remember this) we are bringing it back for our final beer brewed at the pub!
It couldn't be more fitting that Bram is here to be a part of the closing of this chapter with us. (This beer will be available around the end of March)
Our beer cooler is getting moved around the end of APRIL.
ONLY 2 MONTHS LEFT TO LOAD UP ON NORDIC BEER!!!
MONTH OF MAY LIMITED BEER AND FOOD OPTIONS BUT WILL BE OPEN!
Thank you to everyone for all of the continued support over the years.
The business is going to be transforming into a tap house that will be opening at a new location towards the end of June, according to the social media post.
While it is sad to see another craft brewery close its doors, it is encouraging to know they are just tweaking their model to focus on bourbon and food with the new business, which will have a somewhat familiar name.
The new business will be called the Nordic Tap House and it will be located just a few blocks away on Walnut Street. The new building can be found at 106 Walnut St, downtown Monticello, and will "have a big 2nd floor mezzanine along with a ROOFTOP PATIO that will over look the new park and the river" according to a post by the brewpub in January.
