Thanksgiving is the time of year you spend with your family and share what you are thankful for. This Thanksgiving, one family received horrible news.

Barb and her family were celebrating Thanksgiving this year when they received a terrible news of their house on fire. Barb has a great friend who nominated her and her family for Opie's Angels Tree.

Here is what the letter said...

"This year on Thanksgiving while families members gathered together to count their blessings, my coworker Barb, her husband and three young children received devastating news. A neighbor called to state that their house was on fire. Unfortunately, Barb and her family were left with just the clothes on their backs. Barb is a nursing assistant at the Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany where we work together. Two-days after the fire she was back to work stating, "We need the money". Barb and her family are currently living with her mother until they can get permanent placement. After losing EVERYTHING... family heirlooms, children toys, pictures and simply memories, I felt the need to nominate Barb and her family this year. Barb's kids are 15, 11 and 9 years old. I want them to know that even in the midst of a tragedy there are people who are there to lend a helping hand anyway they can. If you could help them out by maybe giving a gas card since they've had to make several trips back and forth to get supplies or anything you could do to help make this Christmas EXTRA SPECIAL after losing EVERYTHING it would be a Christmas miracle for this family. Thank you and God bless."

Opie's Angel Tree granted this wish for Barb and her family.
