‘We Love You Randy’ Message Sent To Former MN Receiver
Last night, the Minnesota Vikings won 30-12 over their divisional rival, the Chicago Bears. This win also meant a season sweep of the Bears for the purple and gold. During the first touchdown of the game, wide receiver Justin Jefferson made a touching gesture toward a former Minnesota wide receiver.
After making the grab towards the back of the endzone, Justin Jefferson strolled towards the cameraman in the middle of the end zone, raised both of his hands, and then made a heart with his hands, and yelled 'We Love You Randy'. It was a gesture towards Randy Moss, former Minnesota Viking Wide Reciever and NFL Hall of Famer.
Moss, recently took a leave of absence from ESPN, where he was part of the NFL Pregame show, due to some health concerns. It was later revealed that Moss has been diagnosed with bile duct cancer, and recently underwent a procedure to have the cancer removed.
The gesture by Jefferson was special for many Minnesotans. In that moment we all understood what was happening, and I even took a moment during the commercial break to smile and think about some of those special moments that Randy Moss brought fans.
Everything that I've seen online about the HOF wide receiver says that he plans on undergoing "radiation and chemotherapy".
According to cancer.gov the type of cancer, bile duct cancer that Moss has, is also known as cholangiocarcinoma and it is rare. "On average, it affects fewer than 6 in 100,000 people around the world. In the United States, cholangiocarcinoma affects about 8,000 people per year. In some places, though, cholangiocarcinoma is more common."
