The Minnesota Vikings (7-7) were completely dominated by the visiting Indianapolis Colts (7-7) 34-6 this afternoon at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Although 'mathematically' still alive -- it was essentially the end of any remote playoff hope the Vikings might have had.

With just two games remaining, the Vikings are essentially playing for pride (and jobs) at this point -- facing the Packers in Green Bay on Christmas Eve, and the Bears in Minneapolis on New Year's Day.

In Adrian Peterson's first game since injuring his knee in week-two, he carried the ball just 6 times for 22 yards.

NFC North Standings

  1. Detroit Lions  (9-5)
  2. Green Bay Packers  (8-6)
  3. Minnesota Vikings (7-7)
  4. Chicago Bears  (3-11)

This Saturday (Christmas Eve) the Vikings face the Packers in Green Bay at Lambeau Field.
