Minnesota weather... in the winter you think you live in the arctic and in the summer in the desert. Right now it's extremely hot, so what's the "magic number" to set your thermostat at to stay cool, but not break the bank?

I HATE sleeping in hot weather, cool to cold is perfect for me cause I can always warm up with a blanket but can NEVER seem to cool off while sleeping. I have my thermostat set at 74 in the new house.

According to master technicians the "magic number" to set your air conditioner at during the steamy days of summer is somewhere between 72 and 78. Staying hydrated with plenty of water is another effective way to beat the summer heat.

For winter time, to stay warm and keep money in your pocket by not using so much energy, the "magic number" is 68.
