Minnesota Named 6th Best State for Millennials to Live and Work

A new study done by Wallethub has just named Minnesota as the 6th best state in the country for Millennials to live and work.

Millennials are the generation born between 1981 – 1996 that often gets a bad reputation for being entitled, parentally dependent, emotionally fragile. As a Millennial myself, I can confirm that we aren't all that way.

Millennials have a reported trillion-dollar purchasing power in the United States, but we are actually worse off than our parents economically due to financial crisis:

Millennials have come of age and entered the workforce in the shadow of the Great Recession, which has significantly reduced their job prospects and earning potential for decades to come. Plus, many millennials are struggling due to financial difficulties from the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting high rate of unemployment.

So we kinda got the short end of the stick. The good news is that Millennials in Minnesota are much better off than those in other states across the country.

Wallethub compared all 50 states against 34 different metrics to determine the best place for Millennials to live and work in the country and Minnesota fared well.

Affordability: 12th in the country

Education and Health: 10th in the country

Highest Home Ownership Rate: 4th in the country

Lowest Unemployment Rate: 4th in the country

Highest Percentage with Health Insurance: 4th in the country
