Osakis High School in Central Minnesota had said that girls would need to submit a photo of their dress for pre-approval prior to the 2017 Prom on April 22nd, but in a reversal the school now says that the approval was only a 'suggestion.' Was the requirement a good idea?

Supporters of the requirement say it was a way for girls to spend hundreds of dollars on a dress, only to be turned away at the event (which still can happen). Opponents of the pre-approval say that it should be up to the parents to make those kinds of decisions.
