I know what you may be thinking, "You like country music, Baxter?"  The short answer to that is "NO".  But guess who does? My wife.  A flaw that was not exposed before we were married but has now festered into an annual event and I use the term "event" loosely.

It's the least I could do, I guess, since she has the daunting task of putting up with me. Something my previous 2 wives would say wasn't easy. Huh?  Anyway, I will be attending We Fest again this year because it's the least I can do for my best wife, so far.

Actually, flashing back, I did actually work at a We Fest one year after I moved back to Minnesota from Houston, Texas. It was "We In '83", the very first We Fest.  It was an interesting experience and not anyway near the size it's grown to be over the years.

There have been some bright moments, although few and far between, at some past We Fests. One year I wandered away toward the concession area when I heard the band on stage start playing Metallica's "Enter Sandman".

That's kind of odd, I thought, and then they went into Zeppelin's "Rock & Roll' followed by a few other great rock tunes. That was the Zak Brown Band and and I have to say, they looked like they were having a lot more fun playing those rock tunes than when they were doing their country stuff.

Unfortunately there is no Zak Brown Band this year, so I'll have to make do with what's on this years line up.

Anyone have an obnoxiously giant belt buckle I could borrow?  Maybe a pair of boots, size 10?  I WILL be wearing my "MAKIN' THE BEST OF IT" t-shirt, though. Ye Ha!
