Stop me if you’ve heard this one before; you check your bank account and there’s a charge on there you don’t recognize. It creates panic and frustration.

You try to jump into action and make sure there aren’t more charges that you didn’t authorize and most likely you eventually have to cancel the card that the charges appear on.

This creates a whole other set of steps that need to be taken if you have automatic drafts which can really cause you to spend a lot of time making sure everything pays the way it should moving forward.

I found myself in this situation over the weekend. I found a charge for Door Dash on my account. We don’t use Door Dash. To be honest, the only time I used Door Dash was over the summer when I was in North Carolina visiting my mother.

I was caring for her, giving my sister a break, and didn’t have access to a car, so I ordered in. Apparently, I signed up for what is called “Dash Pass”. I Didn’t realize I did, had no clue it was even a thing, but apparently, I signed up.

I didn’t figure this out until I had already called my bank and cancelled my debt card. My wife says to me she thinks she’s seen that charge on our account before.

While I was at work, she looked through our account, and sure enough the same charge had been re-occurring each month and I just missed it somehow.

My wife did a search online and she found that this is a fairly common thing. People somehow get signed up for this monthly service that offers free delivery and discounts when they order food delivery.

It was simple to cancel the membership for this, the steps are below.

If you use door dash from time to time, you may have done like I did and signed up for something you’re not using, and you don’t want. It’s only 9.99 a month, but that adds up throughout the year.

It’s worth at least checking through your account to see if you have the monthly fee so you don’t cancel your card like I did.
