Experience The Pedal For Pollinators Event On Lake Wobegon Trail

Have you ever stopped to watch a bee buzzing around your flowers? Or noticed how exciting it is when a butterfly lands nearby? Most of us don't think much about those tiny creatures...but without them...where would we be?

Here's a fun way to help make sure they don't disappear.

If you love riding the Lake Wobegon Trail, mark your calendar for Saturday, August 8th. That's when cyclists from around the area will gather in Holdingford for 'Pedal for Pollinators,' a ride that's about a lot more than getting in some exercise.

CHOOSE YOUR ROUTE LENGTH

The event begins and ends at Art in Motion, which is already home to a beautiful Bee & Butterfly Habitat Fund pollinator garden. Riders can choose from 21, 32, or 56-mile routes, so whether you're a casual rider or someone who likes a challenge, there's a ride for you. Starting points are in Albany, Avon, and St. Joseph, and will end at 'Art in Motion/Boho Cafe' on the Lake Wobegon Trail at 1400 4th Street in Holdingford.

DELICIOUS CINNAMON ROLLS TO START YOUR DAY

And let's be honest...a bike ride always sounds better when cinnamon rolls are involved.

Every rider will enjoy a cinnamon roll breakfast before heading out on the trail. After the ride, everyone is invited back for a gathering complete with a silent auction.

The best part? Every registration, donation, sponsorship, and silent auction bid helps create more pollinator habitat in Minnesota and across the country.

Registration is $45 in advance and $50 the day of the event. It is a rain-or-shine event, and registration will open at 8 am the day of the event.

The ride will begin at 9 am, and at noon there will be a post-event pollinatorpalooza party, featuring great music from Charlie Roth, and wood-fired pizzas and beverages available for purchase.

At 12:30 pm, you can enjoy a habitat tour from the Stearns County Conservation & Storm District.
