Grand Rapids & Hermantown Claim State Hockey Titles

Grand Rapids rolled past Moorhead 6-3 to claim the Class AA boys state hockey title last night at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. Earlier in the day Hermantown beat Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake 4-3 in overtime to earn the Class A championship.

Also in Class A, St. Cloud Cathedral topped Northfield 2-1 for third place, and Delano beat East Grand Forks for the top spot in the consolation bracket.

In Class AA, Eden Prairie outlasted Lakeville South 3-2 in overtime to grab the third place trophy, while St. Thomas Academy defeated Wayzata 5-0 to win out in he consolation bracket.
