14-year-old Owen Sanderson and his 12-year-old friend, Mac Hoekscra might just have the best fishing story of the summer. The boys are from Edina, and for the past few weeks they have been devising a plan to catch a monster sized sturgeon living in Minnehaha Creek in Minneapolis.

Dubbed the Minnehaha Monster, the boys caught it by the tail on Wednesday July 24th right next to the 56th Street bridge in Edina. Their fishing method: a rope with a slip-knot tied in it.

They got the giant fish on the bank and found out this giant was 73 inches long, and the process was luckily caught on camera by one of the boy's dad. After measuring, the boys quickly got it back in the water to make sure it lived.

Talk about a great story to tell once school starts back up again!
