With heavy rains expected tonight through the weekend, the National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for portions of Central Minnesota including Sherburne & Wright counties, in effect tonight through Thursday evening. Rainfall forecasts range from 2-5" across the area, with more on the way this weekend.

From the National Weather Service this afternoon: The threat for flash flooding is high tonight to the east and south of the Twin Cities as multiple rounds of thunderstorms occur. Pay attention to the weather tonight and be able to receive warnings. Have a plan if flooding develops in your area. Be especially cautious when driving tonight and do not drive through flooded roadways. There is also a threat for severe thunderstorms tonight. Large hail and damaging winds are the main threats.
