A big thumbs up to a Minnesota eatery in Southern Minnesota for sticking to their guns recently. The Bayside Saloon & Grill in Red Wing, has a hard and fast rule where if you have kids with you, you can only be served 2 drinks, maximum. Recently one customer didn't appreciate the establishment's rule, and the business turned to social media to double down on common sense.

Had a very unhappy customer tonight because we enforced this rule on him. I'm not going to budge, if you want to go out drinking with your kids, don't come to Bayside. He gave us a 1 star review and made up phoney complaints...Oh and stiffed the server. So sad some people are like that.

The post has been shared more than 125 times, and there has been mostly positive support left in the comments, but a few people feel the business overstepped its bounds by implementing the rule.

Minnesota Law allows establishments to refuse service to patrons who are 'obviously intoxicated'.

340A.502 SALES TO OBVIOUSLY INTOXICATED PERSONS.

No person may sell, give, furnish, or in any way procure for another alcoholic beverages for the use of an obviously intoxicated person.

To me and I'm sure to many of us, this is common sense. If you've got kids in tow, you shouldn't be looking to get 'buzzed' as we know buzzed driving is also drunk driving.

It doesn't appear that Bayside is going to see less business based on the reaction that their social media post has received, but it is a bold, common-sense stance during a time when common sense isn't all that common.

Top 10 Things Minnesota Kids Want To Be When They Grow Up

What do kids want to grow up to be? In 2019 a bunch of surveys were done and it really hadn't changed much from when you and I were little kids...with one addition. See if you can spot the NEW career (and a parent obviously NOT happy with the kid's Dad Trend).

Most Visited State Parks In Minnesota: Is Your Favorite in the List?

Minnesota has 75 beautiful state parks. The parks have an average of 9,700,000 visitors each year. Interestingly enough, nearly 19% of park visitors come from other states and countries, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. Now, my favorite State Park is Jay Cooke in Carlton, MN, but it did not break into the top 5.
