Make sure the AC is working and there are popsicles in the fridge! The National Weather Service issued a special statement about a heat wave moving through the area. Temperatures are expected to get into the upper 80's by Thursday (6/28/18) afternoon with heat index ratings in the upper 80's to low 90's. Friday is when it gets worse.

Much hotter and more humid air will arrive Friday on gusty southwest winds. The worst conditions are expected across southern and eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Highs of 95 to 100 are expected to combine with dew points in the low to mid 70s to produce heat indices of 105 to 110.


With temperatures and humidity that high, heat related illnesses can become present. Keep an eye on children and the elderly, making sure prolonged periods of time oustide are limited, and everyone is hydrated.
