The residents of Central Minnesota have proven time and time again that they are willing to give back to their community and support needs that arise.

Last month, we put together a school supply drive that lasted two weeks and the amount of donations we received was so much more than we ever thought we’d get.

The outpouring of support and help that has been demonstrated just in the year I’ve lived here is not limited to that one event, we could go on and on naming ways the community has risen to the occasion.

Here is another opportunity to lend a helping hand and like many of the others, you’ll likely get a warm and fuzzy feeling for helping. But this one could also bring some love to your home.

Green Acres Animal Rescue which is based in St. Augusta is looking for foster homes for some of the cats they have. The Animal Rescue has a lot of cats and kittens to choose from if you are willing to be a foster parent, or maybe you can offer one or more of these fur-babies a permanent housing option.

You can check out their Petfinder link to see which cats and kittens are available. I must warn you, there’s likely to be a cuteness overload when you check it out.

If you’re not able to foster parents now, maybe you could volunteer with Green Acres. Sadly, the need for folks to be diligent in looking out for pet rescues will continue to be there, and if you’ve got a warm spot in your heart for pets, this could allow you to give back in a manner that fits your life right now.
