The combination of fresh snowfall and very strong winds has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Winter Weather Advisory (purple) for the Saint Cloud area, and a Blizzard Warning (red) to the south and west of our area in effect until 3 AM Friday morning.

The Winter Weather Advisory includes St. Cloud, the Twin Cities, Fergus Falls and areas north. The Blizzard Warning includes Morris, Willmar, Mankato, and areas south.

Blowing snow, reduced visibilities, wind gusts up to 40 mph, and wind chills near -30˚ can be expected in the Winter Weather Advisory area. In the Blizzard Warning area wind gusts in excess of 55 mph are possible along with new snowfall -- producing zero visibility at times.

Be safe!
