The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for portions of central Minnesota in effect from 8 PM tonight through 7 AM Sunday morning -- including Douglas, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, Morrison, and Todd counties.

Total accumulation of 2 to 4 inches is expected in the advisory area, with winds gusting as high as 35 mph. Plan on slippery road conditions. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for northern Minnesota tonight, including Detroit Lakes, Moorhead, Bemidji, Grand Rapids, Walker, Hibbing, Duluth, and more -- where 6 to 12 inches of snow is possible.

For the St. Cloud area expect 2 to 4 inches of snow overnight tonight, with blowing snow, especially Sunday morning into the daytime, when winds could gust as high as 30 mph.

From the National Weather Service this evening: An area of snow will develop across central Minnesota this evening and lift northeast through the overnight hours. The best chances for accumulating snow are north of I-94. Temperatures warm on Sunday with chances for additional light rain and snow with strong northwesterly winds during the afternoon. A sharp cold front will move through overnight, with temperatures falling into the single digits by Monday.
