Your Super Bowl Party Checklist
Hey...it's your party. You can do whatever you want.
Is it playing games all day that you want? Is it a room full of friends and family, your favorite beverages and appetizers? Is it a cozy fireplace, a blanket and your dog sleeping in your lap? Is it placing bets? What is it?
I've found about a million tips that make for a great Superbowl party; but everyone's idea of a great party are different.
Here are some tips that I found that sound like a pretty good time to me. Let me know if you have more!
GET THE WORD OUT NOW
Whether you are sending out a big invitation on Facebook, calling your friends, or actually sending out invitations, get the invitations out now; so everyone makes plans to show up at your party...instead of making plans to go somewhere else.
A BIG TV
Listen....if you're throwing a Superbowl party and you have a 32 inch TV; unless your a college student, maybe you should let someone else throw the party. People are expecting a big tv for the big game.
PLENTY OF ROOM
If you're inviting all of your family and friends to your party, make sure you have room...like a big living room...a man cave...a heated garage...Make sure there's room for everyone to enjoy the game.
LOTS OF FOOD
Watching a game like this is exciting; it takes moments of patience, mixed with moments of excitement and sometimes dread! Keep the food close by...it's a great way for a frustrated person to get up when the action gets to be too much, and take a little break.
ENJOY THE HALFTIME SHOW
For those of you who love Football, please remember, there are those of us that are watching the game because we love you; so please let us enjoy the halftime show; it's something us creative types look forward to every year; and there is nothing worse than going to a party where they turn down the tv during the halftime show!
A PLACE FOR THE KIDS
If your kids LOVE football and can watch the game with the big people; awesome. If they have no interest, then have a place for them in another room, where someone can keep an eye on them, and an eye on the game.
GAMES FOR EVERYONE
Maybe you want to play a little Superbowl Trivia?
You can make up your own games, have party favors or not have any at all...but some people really like to get in on the fun. Having a few options is always a great idea.
