The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the southern half of Minnesota from Noon today through 3 AM Sunday morning, including Kandiyohi, Meeker, Sherburne, Stearns, and Wright Counties.

Snow will spread from west to east across the region today, and taper off by Sunday morning. Much of the area will see at least a few inches of snow. Heaviest amounts (4-7”) currently expected in southern Minnesota. Winds will be light, southeast near 10 mph.

Travel impacts are likely from the snow, but they are not expected to be severe considering the light winds & timing of the snowfall. While snow arrives during the day, accumulations won’t ramp up until Saturday evening.
