Water Lantern Festival Happening an Hour From St. Cloud June 29th
The Water Lantern Festival is coming to Lake Phalen in St. Paul on Saturday June 29th.
Water Lantern Festival is filled with fun, happiness, hope, and great memories that you'll cherish for a lifetime. This is a family friendly event that can be shared by everyone. Friends, families, neighbors, and lots of people that you haven't met can come together to create a peaceful, memorable experience.
Lanterns can be ordered ahead online for $25 (through June 26th, $30 until June 28th and $40 day of). Each lantern kit comes with:
- Floating lantern
- Commemorative drawstring bag
- Marker
- Wristband
The price covers the cost of collecting and removing the lanterns from the water following the event and cleaning up any trash that may have been previously been in or around the water. So it goes toward helping the environment!
The gates will open at 6 pm on Saturday of the festival, there will be food trucks, music, fun, and at 8:30 you have the opportunity to decorate your lantern. From 9 pm - 10 pm you'll be able to launch your lantern out into the lake, and the event will wrap up around 10 pm.
All lanterns will be cleaned up after the event by the Water Lantern event team. They are also 100% eco-friendly made of wood and rice paper!
