Growing up in my neighborhood, it wasn't uncommon for a backyard/street game to break out with all the kids from the surrounding streets. It might have been cul-de-sac basketball or hockey, sometimes it was a football game with one of the dads playing QB for both teams. Recently, a former Vikings QB filled that 'all-time QB' role with kids in his neighborhood, what a great memory for everyone involved.

Number 9 on the field

Tommy Kramer, a fan favorite Quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings, recently spotted some neighborhood kids playing a pick-up game of football and decided to join in. Of course, Tommy opted to be the 'all-time' QB for both teams, and from the photo he shared on X, it looks like everyone was having a great time.

Number 1 in the hearts of Vikings fans

Kramer played for the Minnesota Vikings from 1977 to 1989, followed by a year in New Orleans before calling it a career. Kramer was a first round pick in 77, coming out of Rice.

Kramer was a fan favorite for his ability to lead the Vikings to a win, in the waning moments of a game, giving him the nickname 2-minute Tommy. Kramer brought the Vikings back 19 times to win in his career, with 15 of those 19 wins coming in the final two minutes of the game.

A Viking Still At Heart

Tommy has been back, living in Minnesota, for about a decade now, living in the North Metro. His home has lots of Vikings memoribilia inside it, and he also is involved with a limo company that has a purple limo with Viking horns on it.

It's great to have Tommy here in Minnesota, as he seems to have settled down with age, and continues to want to be involved with the game he loves, with the team who drafted him back in 1977.
