US Postal Service Chooses Anoka as the Host City for Halloween Stamp Unveiling
The 2016 Forever Jack O' Lantern stamps chose Anoka, Minnesota, the Halloween Capital of the World, to host the official unveiling event on September 29th, 2016.
Excitement is quite high for Minnesota, especially the city of Anoka, as the United States Postal Service chose the city as the host city for the unveiling of their new 2016 "forever" stamps. It's a perfect fit for the stamps being unveiled in the Halloween city!
Anoka, central Minnesota's neighbor about 45 minutes down Highway 10, heard about the opportunity to submit to host the 2016 stamp unveiling and worked with multiple Anoka area organizations to get the attention of the US Postal Service as the best location for officially releasing the set of 4 new 2016 Jack O' Lantern stamps.
The city plans to host the unveiling on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Anoka City Hall Plaza (2015 First Ave. North, Anoka, MN) and will include speakers, music, activities, and more!
There will be merchandise that showcases the stamp collection, including the actual stamps, and cancellation envelopes.
