Twins To Call Up Waldrop; Host Royals

The Twins are expected to call up righthander Kyle Waldrop from triple-A Rochester.

Waldrop is a 2004 1st round pick who has a 1.26 ERA in 14 1/3 innings at triple-A in 9 games.

Relief pitcher Jeff Manship has been optioned to triple-A Rochester.  Manship has a 10.97 ERA in 10 2/3 innings for the Twins this season.

The Twins begin a 4-game series with the Royals tonight at 7:10, pregame on WJON at 6:40.

Lefthander Brian Duensing (1-3) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and righthander Luis Mendoza (2-4) toes the rubber for the Royals.  The two teams play a day/night doubleheader Saturday to make up for a previous rain-out this season.
