Twins Swept by Astros in 5th Straight Loss
The Minnesota Twins (63-76) lost their fifth straight game, as the Astros completed the sweep with a 9-1 win Wednesday night in Houston.
Houston scored two in the third, two more in the fourth, one in the fifth, another in the sixth, and three more in the eighth inning to dismantle the Twins pitching staff.
Minnesota starter Jake Odorizzi pitched 4 and two-thirds innings, giving up five runs on four hits, four walks, and four strikeouts. Vasquez, Curtiss, Drake, Rogers, and Belisle all saw action in relief of Odorizzi.
Minnesota's only run came in the fifth inning on a Willians Austudillo solo home run.
