The Minnesota Twins (83-75) have clinched the final American League wild card spot following last night's loss by the Los Angeles Angels to the White Sox. It's the first time the Twins have made the post-season since 2010.

The Twins lost to the Indians 4-2 last night in Cleveland, but the Angels also lost to the White Sox -- pushing the Twins into the post-season.

With the wild card bid, the Twins have become the only team in MLB history to lose more than 100 games one year, then making the playoffs the next. Minnesota lost a team record 103 games last season.

The most likely wild card scenario would have the Twins in New York next Tuesday to face the Yankees for the one game wild card showdown -- with the winner advancing to the American League Divisional Series

The Twins face the Indians to finish their series today in Cleveland, before returning home to wrap up the regular season with three games against the Detroit Tigers this weekend at Target Field.
