The second largest Costco Wholesale store in Minnesota is about ready to open its doors. The much-anticipated store in St. Cloud is opening to the public on Saturday morning. The retail store is over 160,000 square feet on 21 acres of land.
You've probably seen people holding signs advertising for Costco over the last few weeks. If you haven't, you likely live under a rock or don't frequent central Minnesota.
It has been several months now since the work was done to clear the trees on the site of the future Costco store. So where is that project at right now? St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis says they are planning to close on the sale of the land in a few weeks.
The city will receive just over $3.5 million for the sale of the land. The money from the land sale is being used to buy an additional 49 acres at George Friedrich Park and Talahi Woods, both in southeast St. Cloud.
