Join me Sunday March 8th at 11 am for the Sunday morning Country Classic Spotlight featuring Reba McEntire.

Reba is a chart topping award winning country music singer.  In 1974 she sang the National Anthem at the National Rodeo finals in Oklahoma City.  Red Steagall  heard her sing and financed a recording session.  Mercury Records offered her a contract in 1975.

Reba switched record labels in 1984 and then began to take more charge of her career.  Her album, My Kind of Country, contained  #1 hits like How Blue and my favorite Somebody Should Leave . The song, released in 1985,  is a ballad describing a woman who finds herself in a loveless relationship with her husband.

Somebody should leave but which one should it be you need the kids and they need me.

Besides being a country singer, Reba has acted in films and starred on her own sitcom.  She also owns several businesses.

She has been married twice and her current husband is Narvel Blackstock.  From her second marriage she inherited three stepchildren and gave birth to a son, Shelby Steve McEntire-Blackstock on February 23, 1990.  Reba's stepson, Brandon Blackstock, is married to her friend and fellow singer, Kelly Clarkson.
