I guess the recent cold temps have been good for something: making snow.

Wild Mountain Winter and Summer Recreation in Taylors Falls is now partially ready for the winter part of their name. With temps floating in the 30's, they have been busy making snow and getting their ski and snowboard runs ready to open for the season.

As of Tuesday, October 29th, the bunny hill, terrain park and both rope tows are open and ready. Their goal is to have the intermediate run and chairlift open by Friday, November 1st.

Wild Mountain is typically one of the first ski areas to open each year in Minnesota. In 2018 they were open as early as October 21st.

They will be open from Tuesday-Thursday from 3-8 p.m., Friday from 1-9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. These times are all weather permitting, and it looks like temps will be cool enough for them to keep making snow. Keep an eye out for updates on the Wild Mountain website.

A little closer to home, Powder Ridge in Kimball is also prepping to make snow. In a Facebook post this week they said the temps are getting closer to snow making conditions, and as soon as the snow flies we will know.
