‘Skate the Star’ Returning to Mall of America December 14th
Start practicing your triple axels, Skate the Star is coming back to the Mall of America in Bloomington. OK, maybe those moves are a bit extreme, but you can leisurely loop around this outdoor rink for charity!
Skate the Star is brought to us by Medica and TCF Bank this year, and it is totally free to do if you bring your own skates. Skate rental is just $5 and all the money from rentals will be donated to The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities.
Skate the Star will open to the public on Saturday December 14th, and be open through February 2nd. Hours are subject to change based on weather, it is outdoors in Minnesota after all, but they do currently have their hours set through their intended closing date.
The skating rink is located at the North entrance of the Mall of America, and skate rental is located near Anthropology on the first floor.
Some things to note if you plan to Skate the Star this year:
- All skaters must complete waivers before skating. Minors under the age of 18 must have waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Waivers are available on-site.
- A drivers license, state ID card or $20 deposit is required for skate rental. *Student ID's will not be accepted.
- The Mall of America's Parental Escort Policy is in effect for this attraction which states:
We welcome all youth to Mall of America; however, on Friday and Saturday evenings youth under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult 21 years or older from 4 p.m. until close.
