Popular Offroad Motorcycle Has Been Recalled
The sights, sounds and smells of spring and summer in Minnesota are outstanding. The smell of grills around the neighborhood, seeing people mowing their lawns and kids playing, and the sounds of laughter while people enjoy the warmer weather.

On the roads we’ll see more and more folks getting back on their motorcycles to enjoy the weather and to get where they need to go. We’ll also start seeing more motorcycles on trailers and haulers for those who like to go off-road or race competitively.
If you are one of those folks who rides off-road bikes, or you know someone who is, a new bike has found itself on a recall list.
According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, Kawasaki Motors has recalled their 2025 KX model competition and cross-country motorcycles.
The report says the problem with these bikes is that the primary gear for the crank shaft can fail which creates a crash risk.
The recall involves Kawasaki KX450, KC450SR, and KX450X models because this issue has been brought to light. These bikes were sold between June of 2024 through March of this year at authorized Kawasaki dealers.
To date, there have been no incidents or injuries reported but if you continue to use the motorcycle in question, that could change. To correct this issue, you need to contact an authorized Kawasaki dealer to schedule an appointment for a free repair.
The primary gear that is failing will be replaced with a new gear at no charge to you.
