Planets, Eclipses, and Stars—Oh My, Minnesota!
MARCH IS A BUSY CELESTIAL MONTH
I know, I know. I write a lot about what's happening in space. But I'm fascinated with it, and if you can find a dark spot to enjoy some celestial viewing and get your head out of your phone for just an hour, it's amazing to see what's happening in our nighttime sky.
MARK YOUR MARCH CALENDAR FOR THESE EVENTS
There are many events happening in March, so I thought you might want to mark your calendar for these interesting things happening over your head.
First of all, this week will be the last chance for you to see all seven planets together in the nighttime sky until the year 2040! So yes...If you want to see it, now IS the time.
TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE MARCH 14TH
On March 14th, we will experience what I wrote about last week, and that is the Total Lunar Eclipse, or Blood Moon. The Total Lunar Eclipse will be visible unless it's blocked by cloudy skies.

METEOR SHOWERS MARCH 14TH- MARCH 15TH
From March 14th through March 15th, it's time to watch the skies for the Normid Meteor Shower. The best viewing time will be right before dawn.
BEAUTIFUL VENUS
March 18th through March 21st, you'll see beautiful Venus shining in both the morning AND the evening, which also won't happen again for quite some time. The next time you'll see this happening will be in the year 2033.
WHERE ARE THE RINGS? SATURN'S RING PLANE CROSSING
On March 23rd, Saturn will have a brief moment where it's rings will seemingly disappear. This is because we will be viewing Saturn from the view that would be across the rings, making them invisible temporarily. This is called Saturn's Ring Plane Crossing.
PARTIAL SOLAR ECLIPSE MARCH 29TH
Finally, our busy skies will end in March with a Partial Solar Eclipse on March 29th. The eclipse will begin at 3:51 Central time and will be visible to us as long as the weather permits.
